WHY THESE CALCULATED INSULTS BY THE NDC ON THE OKYEHENE AND NATIVES OF AKYEM ALWAYS?
In March 2015, Prez John Mahama insulted Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin that “Kyebi is the headquarters of galamsey”. Mahama later apologised to Okyeman Council, saying “I regret what I said; I know it has worried you the chiefs a lot. Please, kindly forgive me; maybe because I am not an Akan, and didn’t know how to speak without an excuse when using some words that’s why when I said that, I didn’t know I had offended you.” But the fact is, Mahama said Kyebi is the headquarters of galamsey in english language, not in Twi, therefore why would he use the excuse not being an Akan as excuse? Is there any parable in Akan language that conveys a meaning indirectly by using analogy which JM can claim that he doesn’t understand?
In Sept 2019, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of NDC, Kwame Zu, said “Okyehene used to drink Water with animals until Mahama provided Kyebi with potable water.” Kwame Zu, stated categorically that “Mahama stopped Okyehene from drinking water with animals.” Zu, added that “If the Kejetia edifice had been in Kyebi won’t Akufo-Addo had opened it for his people to use?
Later, the NDC bigwigs together with Kwame Zu himself, went and apologised to Okyehene Ofori Panin and Okyeman Council over the insults.
Today as well, John Mahama, states that “Akyem people are Sakawa Mafias” including the sitting President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, who’s also a native of the Akyem. However, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Peter Otokunor says; there won’t be any apology for “Akyem Sakawa Mafia” comment. Insulting a whole tribe, Mahama will not apologise?
I beg to ask, is Ambassador Victor Emmanuel Smith, who’s also a royal native of Abuakwa still a member of NDC? How doe’s he feel observing all these apparent disdainfulness and abuses on Okyehene and the overt disrespect for the people of Akyem by the NDC Flag-bearer and their members? Does he also condone these aspersions and contemptuous rudeness to the Akyem natives?
This is absolutely mind boggling! I can’t think far!!
