WHEN YOUR CAMPAIGN IS WITHOUT MESSAGES, YOU PITCH CAMP WITH ETHNOCENTRISM
Many a Ghanaian has been left dumbstruck over the rather sensationalized ethnocentric sentimentalism indulged in by the opposition NDC as regards the deployment of soldiers to man Ghana’s borders with Togo.
One is tempted to ask what could be responsible for such seditiously instigative sermons by the Minority when the issues which formed the basis for their press conference do not merit the attention they gave to same.
At a glance, one would think that contingents upon contingents of military personnel were deployed to the Ketu South zone with the expressed mandate of preventing the indigenes from going out to register as the EC kickstarts its registration exercise.
It was as though the soldiers sent there have been on rampage, ravaging and raping the people when it was a palpable falsehood.
It has been established that only 16 men and women in green have been deployed to the area, and the NDC has misled the general public by hyping the matter as though for every meter one walks, soldiers can be seen.
What is behind this needless, ethnocentric expedition embarked on by the NDC is the fact that they have no messages for Ghanaians as the 2020 elections inch closer.
In the absence of these messages to convince the electorate on why they should vote for them, they have decided to latch on to this issue with the hope that it would sweep across the country in order for them to benefit politically from same.
When the pot is empty, people find reasons to fill the vacuum with topics which touch the sensibilities and sensitivities of people just so they could stay in equilibrium. The NDC comes to us with an empty sack but hopes to go home with a bag full of goodies. Let’s reject these empty minds.
