WHAT IS THE FATE OF THE TEACHER IN GHANA?
I was befuddled and read with shock, how some residents of Asiakwa in the Eastern region….. ….pounced on mr Somuah Bosompem George, head teacher of Salvation army Basic school, and have beaten him to death in such a bizarre circumstance.
This is egregious and unthinkable to say the least. My expectation was to see the whole nation come together, to condemn and mourn with the bereaved family as I have witnessed how similar incidents have attracted public sympathy in this country, but the feeling is different, because, the decease is a TEACHER whose relevance is not valued in Ghana today.
One will ask of the whereabout of GES and GNAT, but let me disappoint readers and say it as it is.
The interest of GES and GNAT is not to protect the Teacher, but, what they can squeeze out of the TEACHER in terms of SERVICE and DUES.
Pathetically, the media is silent over such a despicable act which involves human life and should have been given enough prominence.
TEACHERS deserve better treatment and support, to bring out the best in them, to reduce illiteracy In Ghana for a better future..
My love for being a TEACHER keep dwindling by the day due to the careless treatment TEACHERS suffer in their line of duty.
#Give the TEACHER all the support and protection to function.
God bless our homeland Ghana
