The Deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Obeng-Fosu, has assured, all 21st century teachers under the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) will be fully tooled to ensure that they churn out great icons for the future.
According to him, government will not relent on its support for teachers adding that it will provide the needed logistics to help improve upon the teaching and learning process to meet world standards.
Speaking at the book launch of the GNAT’s Standpoint On Education in Accra, the deputy PRO said “The Akufo-Addo government has demonstrated its commitment to teachers in the ruling out of its reforms since 2017. Some of the areas include; Teacher Education, Licensure Teacher Recruitment, Deployment and Promotions. We will ensure, all 21st Century Teachers are well tooled so that they will inspire our children to meet the challenges and opportunities the global community offers”
He added that per his supervision and monitoring of the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in some schools in Accra, most teachers were happy about the PPEs provided by government as part of measures of ensuring that the spread of the virus is reduced.
The Deputy PRO further revealed that the Education Ministry has GNAT and other Teacher Unions at heart adding that without a teacher, there will be no better education.
“It is for this reason that we have sort to engage teacher unions in rolling out new reforms. We have had our disagreements over several issues but the most important thing is to remain engaged and settle on what is needed for the betterment of education delivery in the country” he said.
