Vote For Candidates who have Kumasi, Asante “at heart” and Resist All Self-Centered Candidates — KuYA to Electorate
As the famous Abraham Lincoln posited that democracy simply means the government of the people by the people and for the people, the Patrons, Executives, and entire members of Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA) believes that political parties and election processes are sensitive determinants which cannot be overlooked in every democratic domain.
On 20th June, 2020 the New Patriotic Party (NPP) goes to the polls to elect their parliamentary candidates for the December 2020 election. This election as we are well informed will be ran in constituencies where the NPP has the incumbent MP. Out of the forty seven (47) constituencies in the Ashanti Region, the NPP has incumbent MPs in about forty four (44) of them. This implies that all eyes will be on the Ashanti Region come Saturday, 20th June, 2020.
The Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA) will like to reiterate that the youth of Asante cherish the peace we have sustained and would entreat the NPP to see it to be imperative to maintain peace and order in the course of the primaries elections. Party officers of the NPP are therefore entreated to be fair to all candidates in carrying out their duties as leaders on the election grounds.
We would also like to call on the Ghana Police to be more professional as their services may surely be needed in the course of this election. KuYA would like to remind the Police that they are the friends of the people and has a core duty to maintain peace in all situations. We therefore call on the Ghana Police to be more professional to help make the election a peaceful one.
KuYA would again like to call on the Electoral Commission Officers that may conduct the election to be proactive and resist any form of electoral rigging or fraud. The transparency of the process and good communication skills are demands of every successful election.
The media that will be covering the elections and making report to the public are also advised to desist from any foul invective communications. The media should make accurate and serene report to the public in order to promote peace. All other stakeholders in this election are entreated to be cautious of their actions and desist from any form or act that will tend to deteriorate the peace of Asanteman.
The Patrons, Executives, and entire members of Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA) entreat all delegates to vote for candidates that have Asanteman development at heart. The power is in your hands to decide now but think of Asanteman. Delegates should not care for money but care strongly for people that make themselves available at all times to serve Asanteman. The progress of Asanteman is in your hands to decide, all delegates should think of the future and vote circumspectly.
The Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA) finally would like to wish the NPP and all its Parliamentary Candidates well on the 20th June, 2020 as they embark on electing their parliamentary candidates for the December 2020 election.
