Traditional authorities in Gbi, an area around Hohoe in the Volta region of Ghana have given Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo thumbs up, for his unprecedented achievements in the area.
The chiefs and people of the area who addressed a press conference earlier today indicated that, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo made several promises to them during the 2016 campaign.
According to them, the President has fulfilled most of the promises he made to the community, making him ‘Promise Keeper’.
Togbe Adzimah V who addressed the press, indicated that, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo promised to fix the main Hohoe and township roads and true to his words, contractors are currently on the roads working to fix an asphalt overlay, hitherto, looked very messy.
According to the chiefs, the community has been a victim of various promises and fail by other political parties, including the previous National Democratic Congress and New Patriotic Party governments.
But Nana Addo has for once, put smiles on their faces. Some of the projects fulfilled by Nana Akufo Addo in the area include: River Dzandze bridge, Picnic Road, Bla roads, Kpeme roads, Hohoe Fodome Roads, Togbe Gborxo street and many others.
Hohoe plays a very important role to commuting in the Volta region due to its unique position. It is a commercial point which links the Oti and Volta regions. Hohoe also hosts the COCOBOD office which serves both Volta and Oti regions. However, development in the area is lacking.
According to the chiefs and people in the area, Nana Akufo Addo has shown differences in leadership and must be commended to show their appreciation. They have indicated that, the President deserves another term and they will work to ensure that comes to pass.
