The media space was rife with condemnations of President Akufo-Addo for reopening schools partially to allow final year students to write their respective examinations.

Criticisms of the administration heightened when some students were diagnosed with COVID-19.

Some parents, CSOs, teacher unions and political parties furiously demanded the closure of schools since the pestilence had entered into schools.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr, Franklin Cudjoe and some known people bastardize the idea and called upon the Government to follow the Nigeran example which was a closure of schools until further notice.

These fearmongering congregations warned of an upsurge in the number of COVID-19 infected cases if schools were not closed.

Nigeria has since given indications that schools reopen in early part of August.

Strangely enough, the spike these nemesis of the Government talked about has not been realized yet, if it would ever be realized at all.

The reality is that, these people spoke out of ignorance. We are not surprised to see the opposite of their desirous wishes.
