Tamale Interchange needless, the People don’t need it. – NDC’s Hannah Bissiw
When I read this headline I wept. But I didn’t begrudge Madam Hannah Bissiw who had the dubious distinction of retrieving items she donated to her constituents after they roundly rejected her bid to represent them in parliament again. I did not blame her because this whole idea of needless interchange for Tamale appears to be an official NDC position; a position that was made popular on a live TV programme by Hon Alhassan Suhuyini, a sitting MP of Tamale.
We have all known that the NDC takes the people of Tamale for granted. The respectable and elderly Regional Chairman is reported to have said that even if they field a goat they will win in Tamale Central. This to me is what is driving the NDC’S disdain for progress in Tamale. After all goats dont need an interchange. I feel sad that my own peole will give others the opportunity to ridicule us this way. Will Hannah Bissiw say the same thing if the NPP constructs an interchange in Techiman? I think she should apologise to us, and the NDC should lead in demanding it from that shameless former MP.
To the leadership of the Tamale NDC who have used various divisive points to win elections, and proceeded to become filthy rich (apologies, Hon Impeccable), if you do not care about the welfare of the people you have used to amass wealth, do not belittle the genuine efforts of others who are keen to develop the area.
I shall return to this topic.
