Shortage of Prostitutes in Kumasi during ‘’Yepene’’ demo –NPP Chairman

The Ashanti Regional 1st Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyere is alleging that, the leaders of the Inter-Party Resistance against new voter register came to Kumasi purposely for merrymaking.

Upon the pictorial evidence of the demonstration against the compilation of new voters’ register by the group – Kwabena Nsenkyere claims the leaders came purposely to enjoy themselves.

According to the Ashanti Regional Director of National Disaster Management Organization, (NADMO) Mr. Nsenkyere, there was shortage of prostitutes when the NDC leaders and their cohorts came to Kumasi.

‘’ I can confidently say that there was shortage of prostitutes in Kumasi from last Monday and Tuesday due to the presence of the NDC leaders and their cohorts’’ he alleged

‘’They came here and slept at luxurious hotels with sex workers, that was what happened here ‘’

The main opposition NDC and other political parties have stood up against the compilation of new voters’ register by the Electoral Commission ahead of the December general elections.

The first protest to challenge plans of the new register was held at Tamale in the Northern Region and repeated in Ashanti’s Regional capital Kumasi.

The group insists a new register is a waste of taxpayers’ money and could also create tension since the election is close.

But speaking in an interview with Oderfour Qwasi Kay on Ashh fm’s National Agenda on Wednesday, Kwabena Nsenkyere insisted that the electoral commission will go ahead and create the register despite the disagreement by the parties and civil society organizations.
