RE: JOHN MAHAMA ENDED DUMSOR BEFORE LEAVING OFFICE; LETS STOP THE HYPOCRISY AND CHILDISHNESS – REV SAM KORANKYE ANKRAH

I have read news article on several news portals where it has be reported that Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah, one of the few pastors I respected during his sermon on 1st November stated that, “You say John Mahama hasn’t done anything for this nation? That’s a lie. He was able to stabilise electricity and power before he left office” he further added that, all persons criticizing Mahama are hypocrites and exhibiting childish behaviors.

Let me start by making reference to Psalm 74:18, which says, “Remember me O Lord, that, the enemy has reviled and foolish people has spurned Your name.”

Setting the Records straight

(1) Former John Mahama on 19th October 2015, told that Ghanaians that, we should pay more if we want to end Dumsor and truely to his words, electricity tariffs were increased up to about 78% in that same period of Dumsor with the hope and expectation that Dumsor will be ended.

(2) After collecting such huge tariffs from Ghanaians, John Mahama on 30th June, 2016 subsequently told us that we are not out of Dumsor yet. This story was captured by graphic online

(3)In the above news publication, John Mahama noted that, “the crisis appeared to have been prolonged by the non-supply of gas from neighbouring Nigeria to feed thermal plants as a result of debts owed by the Ghanaian government which has led to the shutdown of the Asogli power plant.”
A very simple question here is that, what did he use the 78% increment tariffs he collected from Ghanaians for? Obviously the answer is he squandered the money.

(4) On the 26th day of October 2016, the Deputy Power Minister in the person of John Jinapor (JJ) said that, the reason why Dumsor had not ended was that money was their challenge.

Dumsor: ‘frankly, money is a challenge’ – Deputy minister confesses

Rev Korankye Ankrah, if a deputy power minister on 26th October 2016 stated that, the government of the day was struggling to get funds to fix dumsor as at 26/10/16, then what day, month and time did the Government Of John Mahama end Dumsor like you are insinuating.

(5) President Akufo Addo immediately upon assumption of office on 13th April 2017, cleared the $60, 000,000 Nigerian Gas debt which John Mahama was struggling to pay that led to shortage of Gas supply to Asogli Power Plant. A new agreement was subsequently entered for Gas supply.
