On Monday in the morning, I was invited to ASHH 101.1 FM as a panel member to contribute to their newspaper review. The running story in the newpaperpes was the decision of the government to host this year’s independence day celebration in the capital town of Ashanti region, Kumasi.

I used the opportunity to applaud the government and the president for the novelty of celebrating this important national event outside Accra for the second time under this government. Last year, the independence celebration was celebrated in Tamale in the northern region and Kumasi this year

I recounted the importance of this celebration and the need for the people of Ashanti and Kumasi specifically to take active part to make this first time national event in Kumasi a success. This is because, the hosting of this programme will increases the sales of Taxi drivers, trotro drivers, Uber users, hotel managers, food vendors and finally add up to the economy of the region

On Wednesday, when I had the opportunity on Adehye3 99.1fm, I reterated the same position and entreated the residents to ensure a clean evironment and keep the city of Kumasi clean to receive the many visitors who will be becoming to Kumasi for the celebration

The people of Asante will use this opportunity to expose to the world our rich Asante culture and the hospitality of the Asante people.

Our great Asante King, Otumfour Osei Tutu, welcomes everybody to the Kingdom.
