PREZ. AKUFO-ADDO DOESN’T NEED ANY STATE AGENCY’S CLANDESTINE MOVES TO HELP HIM WIN THE 2020 ELECTIONS
I have heard tell of our NDC friends amplifying their election rigging nonsense with the claim that the Ghana Publishing Company Limited taking part in the printing of our ballot papers would compromise the integrity of the December 7 elections.
According to them, Ghana Publishing Company is a state owned entity with a head appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. That alone, they contend, is enough confirmation of their suspicions that there is a grand collusion between the state’s publishing company and the ruling party.
An impression is created as though this is the first time ever that the Ghana Publishing Company Limited is being entrusted with such a responsibility.
GPCL has always been part of the firms contracted by the Electoral Commission in the printing of ballot papers over the years. There hasn’t been an election without GPCL being given a portion of the EC’s contract to print ballots for our elections.
Meanwhile, the last MD of Ghana Publishing Company Ltd was appointed by John Mahama yet Charlotte Osei gave the outfit a contract for the printing of ballot papers.
Per their illogical assertions, since John Mahama appointed the last MD of the company, same led to our electoral system being compromised when Charlotte Osei handed them some contracts.
What is materially important is the fact that the printing of these ballots are always accompanied by party agents being part of the processes. Every party has agents representing it during the printing process. There’s no room for any rigging mechanism to be rolled out.
The Akufo-Addo administration has done a yeoman’s job in performing beyond expectations and does not need any state entity or body to rig the 2020 elections. Ghanaians have seen the outstanding achievements of this administration and would renew the mandate of President Akufo-Addo and his competent team!
