President not favouring me in NPP race –
Free Zones Boss
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Free Zones Authority (FZA) Micheal Okyere Barfi has dispelled rumours making the rounds in the New Juaben South Constituency of the Eastern Region that he is being favoured by the sitting president.
According to him, nobody can draw that conclusion in the race to the April 25, primary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He noted that he passed through the mail and he was well tested by the delegates of the Constituency and it is not the favour he is getting from the president
Mr Barfi dispelled this rumour speaking on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’, the afternoon’s socio-political show on Accra-based Happy FM hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah.
He added that elements in the camp of the sitting Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Dr Mark Assibey Yeboah think that the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo visited his residence last year mean that he (the president) is favouring him in the race.
He added that race for New Juaben South is about issued based and not about who is favouring who.
‘It is my work as an NPP stalwart in Koforidua that is making me lead the chart in the Constituency he said.
The man who is also the Finance Committee Chairman of the youth wing of the party explained that it is his quest of offering jobs and scholarships to the youth in Koforidua that is making him strive above all.
