PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO COMMISSIONS WATER SYSTEM IN MFANTSEMAN CONSTITUENCY.

The President of the Republic and the flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday, 30th June, 2020 commissioned the Anomansa Cluster Water System, in the Mfantseman constituency.

Commissioning the Anomansa Cluster Water System, President Akufo-Addo noted that the project, which was completed on 4th March, 2020, at a cost of GH¢4.2 million is currently serving a population of seven thousand, four hundred (7,400) residents in 19 communities in the municipality. Some households have also been supported to construct household latrines.

The construction and commissioning of the water systems in the Central Region has, also, moved the water coverage for the region from 63.8% to 70%, an increase of over 6% in three (3) years.

The nineteen (19) beneficiary communities within the constituency includes Anomansa, Hasowodze, Brofoyedur, Daadaagua, Tuafo, Ogoekrom, Oboadzi, Taidu, Amasemkurom, Pomaase, Dwendwenbadze, Obontsil, Nsaadze, Akraman, Buranamoa, Edzimor, Fisheries University, Nyamebekyere and Bethlehem.

The water supply to these communities includes HDPE pipe layout with a total length of 36km, a booster station at Bethlehem, a high level tank which is 100 cubic metres with a storage capacity of 26,417 gallons.

Amasamkrom, a community in the municipality was also mentioned purposely for working very hard to be officially declared an Open Defaecation Free (ODF) community. “The president urged the Municipal Chief Executive, Nananom, and all stakeholders to continue to work hard to maintain this status.”

President Akufo-Addo assured the country that Government will not relent in its efforts to increase access to water for all, a manifesto commitment which remains a key priority.

Further, Government, through the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, has awarded contracts for the construction of six hundred and forty-five (645) mechanised borehole systems nationwide.

“Together, let us all protect and help maintain the water infrastructure, which has come at such significant expense to the taxpayer,” he said.

The MP for mfantseman, Honourable Ekow Kwansa Hayford through whose lobbying these communities benefited from this water system was grateful to the president for the honour done the good people of mfantseman constituency.

Indeed this is a testimony for 4more4nana…4more4Kwansa…
