In their DroptheNewRegister campaign, they make the case that the GHC440 million budgetary allocation to the EC to compile a new register should be used to build roads, schools, hospitals and other similar infrastructural projects.
This beggars belief because when similar exercises were being done in the past, there were still inadequate schools, hospitals, markets, sports complexes, roads, clinics, etc.
When Charlotte Osei was using GHC488 million on a mere limited registration exercise, were all the roads, hospitals, schools, etc in good shapes?
No amount of sentimentality can win this IPRAN group this battle. The facts speak for themselves. Charlotte Osei and Mahama were wasteful.
The new register should be compiled to improve the credibility of our elections. The existing register needs to be overhauled and that’s what the EC seeks to do.
