Many a time, when Bulldog is given the opportunity to share his views on McBrown’s show, he makes strenuous efforts to rope in President Akufo-Addo and bashes him to boot.
Hammer of the Last Two talks about the need for the state to make conscious efforts by injecting resources into the industry. Bulldog jumps in with his usual cacophonically jangly accusations of the current administration not doing anything to lift up the entertainment industry.
Though he has an infrangible right to express his views on any matters which are tabled on the show, his views are riddled with hostility towards the President and party in power. Partisanship drives his viewpoints.
Let’s look at the issue Hammer raised. The state injecting funds into the entertainment industry is not a bad idea in itself. In fact, quite a number of opportunities can be created for many people who are in the industry.
What we should not lose sight of is that the industry players have major roles to play in accelerating the growth and development of the industry. What are the industry players doing to ensure the progress of the industry?
It has become the norm for players in the industry at the leadership level to always engage in scuffles and protracted litigations. There is paralysis at the leadership levels. With this level of disunity, much cannot be recouped from any investments made into the space.
A helping hand from the state may go a long way in helping grow the entertainment industry, those in the industry have the greatest responsibility in leading the much anticipated progress.
