NO ONE RIGGED THE ELECTIONS, YOU NEGLECTED VOLTARIANS AND WE TAUGHT YOU A BIG LESSON – VYD
BY INNOCENT SUPREMO TETTEH
The Volta Youth for Development (V YD) want to state empathetically to former President John Dramani Mahama that the 2016 general elections were not rigged as has already been corroborated by Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) through a statement signed by its then Deputy Director of Communication, Yusif Ayuba on the 12th December, 2016 that their systems only suffered some little breakdowns but was never hacked. So VYD is shocked former President Mahama goes about disgracing Ghana and painting the nation black to the rest of the world with such a palpable lie.
We are making this call in connection with a statement made by former President Mahama while delivering a lecture at the Oxford University that; “EC need to tell us what happened to their electronic transmission during the 2016 elections”.
The truth of the matter which former President Mahama and the entire National Democratic Congress (NDC) have intentionally decided not to believe is that the defeat of the NDC resulted out of the neglect of Voltarians which brought about the reduction of the votes among Voltarians, which can be affirmed by if a bet is thrown to former President Mahama to pinpoint significant projects done by him for Voltarians, he would not be able to pinpoint even a single project he has successfully undertaken in the Volta region and for Voltarians.
Loyalty must certainly come with rewards, Voltarians have been so loyal to the NDC but there is nothing to write home about and they have also realized that it’s only their votes that the NDC needed, even projects started under former President John Kufuor such as the Ho Sports Stadium, Ho Regional Library and others were left in the bush under the entire eight years of the Mills/Mahama NDC government. More over, projects with the tendency to lift up the face of the region as proposed by stakeholders, natives and opinion leaders of the region to the Mahama led Government were never considered, in addition to the Eastern Corridor road which was intentionally left as a death trap by the former Mahama led NDC government.
