The National Executive Committee of the ruling New Patriotic Party has unanimously disqualified Mr Bernard Oduro an aspirant in the Sunyani West Constituency from contesting for the upcoming paliamentary primaries for misconduct among others.

At a National Executive Committee meeting held today in Accra the committee upheld an earlier decision by the Steering Committee which received recommendations and subsequent endorsement by the National Executive Council.

Bernard Oduro Takyi unsatisfied with his disqualification filed an appeal to the National Parliamentary Appeal committee seeking to overturn the verdict but unanimously, a decision was reached that the aspirant has been disqualified from the upcoming primaries slated for the month of June this year due to gross misconduct.

The Committee also recommended that, the Member of Parliament for Jaman-North and the Deputy Minister for Bono Region, Hon Siaka Stevens should contest unopposed while Dr Yao Yeboah who is contesting for the slot of Dormaa Central has been disqualified paving way for the incumbent Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central who doubles as the Minister for Health, Hon Kwaku Agyemang Manu to go unopposed in the impending primaries.

Meanwhile the Member of Parliament for Dormaa West and the Member of Parliament for Berekum West are all going unopposed as a candidate has already been filled for the Banda Constituency, the only orphan constituency in the region.

The Committee requested that in the Supreme interest of the party affected candidates should accept the verdict in good faith and push further for the collective good of the party.
