MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE EMBARKS ON OFFICIAL VISIT TO SCHOOLS..
The Municipal Chief Executive of Mfantseman, Honourable Kenneth Kelly Essuman accompanied by the municipal Director of Education as well as the Municipal Director for health on thursday, 9th July, 2020 embarked on an official visit to some Senior High Schools within his municipality to ascertain for himself the level of compliance to the Covid-19 protocols by the school authorities as well as the students.
At Mfantsiman Girls S.H.S, the first to be visited, the MCE called on the headmistress of the school at her office to have an interaction to find out the journey so far since school reopened. The headmistress informed the team about the general comportment of the students in obeying the covid-19 protocols. Her only problem was about the spreading of fake news that has gotten to some parents that the school has recorded some cases. This she pointed out to be false since no student has been diagnosed of covid-19 yet.
The headmistress then led the team to visit some classrooms to find out how the students were obeying the social distancing protocols as well as the wearing of nose masks. They then visited the dining halls to also see for themselves how the students were observing the protocols.
The Director of Education and the MCE took turns to address the students and encouraged them to keep obeying all the protocols so that no student will be infected with the virus.
The next point of call was to St Andrews S. H. S a private school in mankessim. After a briefing by the headmaster of the school to the Officials, the team then had an interaction with a section of the students in their classrooms.
The MCE however asked for the rearranging of their seats in order to obey the one meter distancing rule. On friday, the 10th of July, 2020, the team will visit mankessim SHTS and some basic schools.
