WHO IS MICHAEL OKYERE BAAFI?
Mr.Michael Okyere Baafi (born 12 March 1976) is a Ghanaian politician and businessman who was appointed Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Authority by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2017.
Mr.Michael Okyere Baafi was the Head of Sales and Marketing at the Phoenix Insurance where he carved an enviable reputation for the company and established it well in the competitive market.
He has 15 years working experience in Strategic Marketing, Corporate Decision Making, and Customer Relationship Management at various levels. He has a massive transaction and engagement skills which come on the back of professional competence and results oriented attitude.
Michael Okyere Baafi is passionate and aggressive marketer with in-depth knowledge in managing people, consumer marketing, small and medium enterprises marketing and retail marketing. As a dynamic and proactive professional, he rose from a marketing officer to an Area Manager within 5 years in a highly competitive insurance industry in Ghana. Michael is a selfless, compassionate, and exceptionally smart and demonstrates high leadership qualities. To equip himself with modern trends and make him a consummate professional, Michael undertook workshops and seminars in various disciplines in Marketing and Sales, Presentation Skills, Claims Handling and Communication Skills, Small Business Management Skills, Innovation and Leadership.
He holds MBA in Marketing and Corporate Strategy from the University of Ghana, MSc degree in Risk Management and Consulting and a Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree, University of Cape Coast.
He’s a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and has over 10 years experience in insurance marketing.
He has been with New Patriotic Party for quite a long time and was the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He has once contested NPP parliamentary primaries in the New Juaben South Constituency.
He was a member of the Trade and Industry sub Committee of the Transition team and was the Vice Chairman of the New Juaben South constituency.
Executive Secretary at Ghana Free Zones Authority
Mr. Okyere Baafi’s appointment took effect from Thursday, 26 January 2017. Assuming office as the GFZA secretary, he has made quiet remarkable contribution to society by supporting the construction of an ultra modern computer laboratory for the Wesley Methodist Basic School at Koforidua in the Eastern Region and promises serve interest of local investors during his term of office.
Born to Mr. Daniel Kwabena Okyere and Diana Agyarko Boateng, Michael Okyere Baafi is married with a son and hails from Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
