MAHAMA’S PROMISES ARE BORNE OUT OF HIS THIRST FOR POWER
Surprisingly, former President Mahama is talking and promising Ghanaians as if he has never been President in this country.
Why didn’t he do what he is promising now while he was the President?
Instead of Mahama heeding to the advise by Otumfour, to tell Ghanaians what he did wrong that led to his woeful defeat in 2016, the former President is still holding on to his old philosophy “Ghanaians have short memories” thinking that he can win the trust of Ghanaians with his promising spree.
Come to think of it, Mahama led NDC government in 2015, passed a bill to criminalize okada activities in the country. Shockingly, the man who banned okada, has today, chosen “okada legalization” as a flagship policy he will implement should he be voted for in 2020.
Mr. Mahama who sponsored tens of adverts against the then candidate Akufo-Addo’s promise of Free SHS, is today, after President Akufo-Addo had implemented it, promising that he will respect and protect the policy and even extend it to private schools.
Mahama who vowed with his blood never to restore teachers and Nursing training allowances, is today, after President Akufo-Addo restored it, promising to pay should he be elected in 2020.
Did I hear Mr. Mahama saying that he will make NABCO beneficiaries permanent?
Well, President Akufo-Addo is doing that.
But let’s ask, what does Mahama know about NABCO?
Did I hear Mr. Mahama, the president who placed embargo on employment for almost 4 years, promising to create 250,000 jobs annually?
How many job opportunities did he create in his four (4) plus five (5) months as President of Ghana?
Is Mr. Mahama promising to fight corruption when voted for? Really?
What did he do when his brother, Ibrahim Mahama issued 44 dud cheques to GRA in payment of his already cleared goods.
What did he do when Dzifa Attivor and Selassie Ibrahim connived to dupe the state in the gh3.6 million bus branding saga?
Is he promising Free import duties?
Is he not the President who taxed everything in the country including condoms?
Do you remember the famous Airbus saga, the Embraier 190jet saga, the Saglemi housing saga, just to mention few.
Mr. Mahama is inconsistent with his words and practices.
President Akufo-Addo is fulfilling the promises he made to Ghanaians and it will be prudent, if we favour him with a second term so he fully fulfill the social contract signed in 2016.
