An agent of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prince Tengey has been arrested by the Police in Awutu Breku in the Central Region for stealing a Tecno Mobile Phone at a registration centre.
According to a GhanaNewsPage.Com reporter, Tengey who has been representing the NDC in the ongoing registration exercise tried to do away with the mobile phone of the officer.
Tengey, the reported said stole the phone in the heat of the registration exercise and hid it.
After several minutes of search, other registration officers decided to call the line of the officer.
It was in the process that the phone started ringing at the centre.
“And when a search was conducted on Tengey, the phone was seen in his underwear and was retrieved…,” the reporter added.
He further said that Tengey was not billed to represent the NDC at that particular centre today and hence many were shocked when they saw him.
He was immediately arrested and sent to the Awutu Breku Police station where he is currently in cells.
NDC authorities in the area who are unhappy about Tengey’s attitude have however disowned him as they claim they never sent him to represent them at the station.
