As Earlier reported by theBBCghan.com as immediately after the National Anthem was sung in Parliament during President Akufo-Addo’s 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament staged a walked out repeating a line in the anthem: “and help us to resist oppressors rule with all our will and might forevermore”.

Interestingly, former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings who were present in the House sat through the session.

The question on the minds of many Ghanaians remains why the former President who is the founder of the NDC did not join the minority in their walkout.

TheBBCghana.com up-close with the former president of the republic, Jerry John Rawlings in his residence hinted that the minority are more desperate to capture the power and he understands their cry as the 2020 general elections victory remains a nightmare, theBBCghana.Com can report.

According to Jerry, the flagbearer of his party NDC, who is in the person of John Dramani Mahama is now in the state of ‘confusion‘ as his running mate now still remains unknown. He further attributed the walkout by the minority members of parliament as desperation for power.
