Hon. Nana Ama Dokua, Information Minister commissions New Jaman Radio at Drobo, Bono Region

I was privileged to be a Special Guest at the commissioning of the newly set up Jaman Radio in Drobo in the Bono Region.

The establishment of this media outfit will further aid and bring governance, democracy, and development to the doorsteps of the people of Jaman, its environs and the country as a whole.

In my address, I underscored the importance and the indescribable role the media plays in our development, being the 4th estate of the realm and how information and its dissemination is necessary for effective governance. I also emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring and promoting media freedom and safety of journalists in the country.

Jaman Radio will serve as commercial radio and and a community radio as well and it will have its programs centered on sports, music, entertainment and politics. It will also help to project the history and culture of the people of Jaman and the country as a whole.
