‘Health is wealth, they say.’ it takes healthy people to build a prosperous nation. In less than one year into his election as Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party, the iKER medical team of Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful has served more than 8,000 patients within five Traditional supreme powers or authorities (Paramountcies)
The team made up of licensed practicing doctors,nurses and other health professionals started providing primary health care at Breman Essiam where about 1660 people benefited. Ajumako was next, where the team added renewal of expired health insurance cards to the process.
At Enyan Abaasa, Enyan Denkyira and Enyanmain, some youth were trained in T- shirt printing, pastries making and others with the renewal of NHIS Cards included.
This initiative is fully under the sole sponsorship of Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful. He’s promised to deploy the team to various communities to ensure they’re healthy to go about their daily businesses.
In interviews with him at all the Centres,he besought the people to put their health above politics.
“Politics is making most people lose what they could have taken advantage of especially matters of health.”,he cried.
Common health conditions attended to included but not limited to BP, headaches, waist pains, cardiovascular diseases,eye problems, common cold, anaemia, and malaria.
The team takes clients through the normal hospital routine, that is from the point of securing a card, to checking of vital statistics, to consultation for diagnosis and prescription of drugs among others.
The chief and people of Breman Fawomanye were glad to notice the many things Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful was doing and requested he sent the team there so they could also benefit from the free health screening. By the end of 2020, more than 30,000 people of the Constituency will benefit from the concerned-heart of the assured next MP for the Constituency
