GANIYU, AMOAKO HIT BRACE AS KOTOKO WALLOP PAC ACADEMY 6:0 TO WRAP UP PRESEASON

Ahead of the commencement of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko sold out an outstanding performance by beating lower-tier side PAC Academy in the club’s last preseason game at the Adako Jachie training ground on Wednesday afternoon.

The club fans crowded the training grounds to observe their new side and also watched most of their new guys for the first time and are willing to rally behind them heavily with few days to the commencement of the season.

The game was balanced in the early minute of the game as both sides tried to find their rhythm. Kotoko had more possession of the ball but few chances were created with their dominance.

Kotoko had the breakthrough in the 8th-minute with an own goal by PAC defender before captain Abdul Ganiyu added the second in the 40th-minute with a powerful header through an assist from Fabio Gama.

Asante Kotoko dominated the first half with some scintillating football this afternoon.

After recess, new signing Samuel Boateng in the 47th-minute gave the Reds a comfortable lead after a brilliant individual effort to score his first unofficial goal for the Porcupines before assisting another new signing Joseph Amoako for the club’s fourth in the 64th-minute.

Ten minutes later, Abdul Ganiyu netted his second goal in the game for the club from the spot before Joseph Amoako wrap up the game in the 85th-minute to fetch his second for Kotoko to make it 6-0.

The visitors kept pressing for a consolation but the Porcupines proved too strong for them as the referee brought the game to an end.

This will be Kotoko’s last preseason friendly as they prepare to take on Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium in their opening fixture of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
