New poll from the two main swing regions in Ghana is out, and the result has once again projected victory for one of the two leading political parties in Ghana.
A development Economist and research fellow with the Center for Social Policy Studies at the University of Ghana Legon, Dr. George Domfeh, who revealed details of the survey on United Television’s Critical Issues this Saturday, November 28, 2020, indicated that he was commissioned by a private individual to conduct the election polls.
He adds that the new polls were conducted from the Central and Greater Accra regions which remains the two most influential swing regions in Ghana.
According to him, the survey was conducted in almost every constituency in the two regions. He adds that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is leading John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with only 3 percent in the Greater Accra region.
Similar results were recorded in the Central Region. However, Nana Akufo Addo has taken a whopping 15 percent lead here also.
“I was hired to run this survey just three weeks ago. We decided to concentrate on only greater Accra and Central Regions due to financial constraints. But these two regions are the major decider in elections in Ghana.
We visited almost every constituency in these two regions, and the result projects Akufo Addo as the winner of the election. The difference in Greater Accra was only three percent, but in the Central region, Akufo Addo is leading John Mahama with 15 percent”. Dr. George Domfeh noted.
According to him, the survey was conducted with a 99 percent confidence level and a 1 percent margin of error. Dr. George Domfeh adds that such a survey never fails, and as such it will manifest in the December 7 2020 general election.
He further added that the Central Region will in no time become one of the strongholds of the New Patriotic Party.
The only seat in the Central Region which the NDC can win in this election is the Cape Coast North constituency. That is where their running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang hails from, but apart from that, the NDC has no chance in the Central Region. If NDC does not take care, the Central Region will become the stronghold of the NPP”. Dr. George Domfeh indicated.
