Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has called on Ghanaians to heed the protocols put up by the government to halt the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in the country.
Speaking at the launch of the Ghana COVID-19 APP in Ghana, the Minister said the government has the interest of the citizenry at heart hence the implementation of aggressive measures to deal with the disease.
She further called on the masses to discard certain notions about the disease including the thought that the disease is a ‘rich man’s disease’.
“COVID-19 is not a rich man’s disease…please discard that…now we have people in the Mamobi and in my own Ablekuma West testing positive for the disease so please note that the disease is not a rich man’s disease…,” she said at the launch.
The MP called on Ghanaians to take advantage of the app which she believes can help with the tracing and treatment of the disease.
Mrs Owusu-Ekuful further assured that the Ghana COVID-19 tracker will not make public the details of persons who use it.
