The Government and National Security Authorities have been alerted to put in immediate stringent measures to halt an alleged secret plan by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to embark on mass food poisoning mission to sabotage the Government’s free food supply initiative towards COVID-19 fight.
According to the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye DC, the diabolic agenda by the opposition party was hatched at a secret meeting held at the Residence of the Former President, John Dramani Mahama on Monday night.
Speaking in a LIVE studio interview on NET2 TV, he alleged that a very deep confidential informant who was part of the secret meeting disclosed all details to him in a 2-hour briefing at the dawn of the same Monday, and that “evil agenda will commence tomorrow 15th April, 2020”.
Abronye DC asserted that the NDC’s agenda, if not curtailed, would make President Akufo-Addo and his Government very unpopular because it would be carried out in a manner that majority of Ghanaians and the rest of the world would blame the Government for all the casualties resulting from the poisonous food supply.
Calling on the Government to make it mandatory for every relief items or foods donations from organisations and individuals should be centralized or handed over to the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives and tested by medical officers before they are distributed to the masses.
Kwame Abronye further alleged that the John Mahama-led NDC team would from Wednesday April 15, release 275 newly COVID-19 branded pickups to start the supply of food to the communities. He said an amount of 5.6 million Ghana cedis had been given out by Mr. Mahama for the branding of the 275 pickups.
The NPP Bono Regional Chairman said “all that John Mahama and his NDC want to do is to tarnish the image of the Government and make it unpopular by every means possible”.
He described all the donations previously made by Mr. Mahama in the various regions since the outbreak of COVID-19 as ‘419 donation’. Saying, “It is all meant to score cheap political points but not to necessarily support efforts of the Government of the day”.
