Chief Of Staff Gives To Orphanages -In Support Of COVID-19 Fight

The Chief of Staff, Mrs. Frema Akosua Frema Opare-Osei, has presented various items to the New Life Orphanage Home at Nungua Barrier and the Teshie Orphanage, both in Accra.

The presentations were in response to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo’s clarion call on appointees to help the needy at the time Ghana is fighting against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

Mrs. Osei-Opare presented the items to the New Life Orphanage Home herself, while Dr. Okoe Boye did that of the Teshie Orphanage on her behalf.

The Chief of Staff was accompanied by the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Hon. Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the Krowor Constituency, and Mr. Joshua Laryea, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krowor, to make the first presentation.

The items donated include bags of rice, boxes of mackerel, boxes of tin tomatoes, cooking oil, Veronica buckets, alcohol-based hand sanitizers, liquid soaps and detergents.

Mrs. Osei-Opare used the opportunity to educate and sensitize the orphans on the deadly virus and asked them to adhere to the safety measures in the fight of the Covid-19, and further encouraged them on the need to stay home, and applauded Government efforts in combating the spread of the disease.

The Manager of the New Life Orphanage Children’s Home, Chief Nii Afotey Botchwey, expressed profound gratitude to the Chief of Staff and her entourage.

‘’I wish to thank the Chief of Staff on behalf of the children at this crucial time in the lives of Ghanaians, indeed she has shown that she is a mother,’’ he said.

The Teshie Orphange handlers also expressed similar gratitude after Dr. Okoe Boye made the presentation on behalf of the Chief of Staff.
