CELEBRATING THE MAN HON MARK YEBOAH ASSIBEY

Hon. Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah was born on March 2, 1974 in Nsawam in Eastern Ghana to Nana Assibey-Yeboah, a Lawyer and Politician from Juaben-Ashanti, Mad. Selina Osei a Midwife from Obo-Kwahu. He grew up in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
He attended Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, Legon and Ghana Secondary School, Koforidua for his Ordinary and Advanced Level Certificates respectively. Hon. Dr. Assibey-Yeboah holds a B.S. (Hons) degree in Agricultural Economics from KNUST, Ghana, and an M.S. in Agricultural & Resource Economics from University of Delaware, USA. He also holds an M.A. and a Ph.D both in Economics from University of Tennessee, USA, specializing in International Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics and Econometrics.
He is currently the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency,where he chairs the Finance Committee of the Parliament of Ghana.
Before he joined the legislature, he was a Senior Economist at the Bank of Ghana. Prior to joining the Central Bank, he was a Lecturer at the Ghana institute
of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He also previously worked as a Lecturer at The University of Tennessee, and as an Adjunct Faculty at Milligan College in USA.
Dr. Assibey-Yeboah has been published in reputable journals such as Economic Record, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of International Trade and Economic Development, and North American Journal of Economics and Finance.He is a member of the American Economics Association._
Hon. Dr. Assibey-Yeboah is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching soccer,
basketball, tennis and golf. He is married to the former Sheila Owusu-Senyah, the Project Manager of SNV Ghana’s HortiFresh project. They have three sons, Jason, Brian and Mark Jr.
