BECE: Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful gifts 23,000 Mathematical sets to Candidates.
‘I am who I am today due partly because of education. While I was in JSS, and SHS, prevailing situations at that time hindered most of us acquiring Basic school needs, and I will not be happy anyone of you worry over mathematical sets during your BDT, Social Studies, Science or Mathematics papers ” ,Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful indicated.
It takes visionary leaders to know and appreciate the fact that there will always be need for one thing or the other during specific times. Having on his policy list to support everything education in his constituency , the NPP parliamentary candidate for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency,Dr Rashid Kwesi Etuaful was there to support each student with a set of Mathematical instrument,bottled hand sanitizer and a cash token to 95% of students sitting this year’s Basis Education Certificate examination.
Thursday and Friday,last week, saw the kind-hearted nature of the NPP PC as together with his Constituency Executives and party faithfuls drove across the constituency from Solomon to Abeadze to Sunkwaa to Ankukrom and Bebianiha, to wish the prospective Free SHS students(BECE Candidates) success in their ongoing exam and to make personal presentation of cash, Sanitizers and mathematical sets to BECE Candidates.
At Ampia Ajumako,the headmaster indicated how the staff was thinking of getting Mathematical sets to their students by Sunday , September 13 before start of exam on Monday 14th September,2020. According to him,it was miraculous that on Friday, NPP’s Parliamentary candidate touched his school with the items they were pondering over how to finance the procurement of same.
“There has always been two things needed to move forward with education,the first one is the ‘brain’ and the second is ‘Money’.
We have had the brains since Adam ,but the money to push most people has never been easy to come by ” ,Dr Rashid explained as he interacted with the pupils.
He added, ” until the coming of a Government that thought far and conceived the idea of an absolutely Free SHS,most valuable national future assets like you would be home after your BECE, because of money”
He assured the pupils of secured places in the various senior high schools which they had to work hard in getting there. Dr Rashid promised to bear all other expenses of Candidates who would get aggregate 6,7,8,or 9 in the ongoing exam and will get enrolled in any SHS and he would include their pocket monies.
Government from 2017 has been paying the BECE registration fee for every Candidate and it was extended to the Senior High Schools this year as the expenses on the entire exam was borne by government.
The rich and the poor now have equal access to quality education due to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s Free SHS policy. About 1.2 million Ghanaian children are beneficiaries of the policy.
Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency is sure of producing future leaders who are balanced in all facets of life.
In most of the towns, parents who met with Dr Rashid and knew his mission there praised him and assured him of a resounding victory come December 7.
