*Asomah Cheremeh Instigates the Rejection of The president’s nominee for Berekum West District Chief Executive.*
Prior to the elections of DCE’s Mr. Obeng Adjei was nominated by the president for the position as the District Chief Executive of the Berekum West District.
About a week ago, it was brought to my attention by three assembly members of the Berekum West District that the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh has started inciting and persistently calling to influence them to vote massively against Mr. Obeng Adjei the president’s nominee for the Berekum West DCE.
As soon as they gave me this information I quickly called the Member of Parliament for the Berekum West Constituency to prompt him about the new happenings in his district.
Hon. Agyenim Boateng who also happens to be deputy minister for railways told me he will take the matter up.
I told him if it would take the influence of we the party executives in the region to counter that of Asomah Cheremeh, to ensure the president’s nominee is endorsed, we are prepared.
Today, the assembly members went to the polls to elect the DCE. Unfortunately, the president’s nominee was massively rejected. His defeat was so humiliating.
Because of his defeat, I deem it considerably fit that the Member of parliament did not take my cautions seriously and regarded same as a mere and cheap talk.
It must be noted that, the rejection of the president’s nominee is so embarrassing.
On the other hand, it must also be noted that Asomah Cheremeh aided In the rejection of the president’s nominee because his (Asomah Cheremeh’s candidate) was not nominated.
Just in case our faithfuls have forgotten, this was the same attitude Eric Opoku (Former Regional Minister NDC) exhibited and all what his president ( Mahama) could say is that he’s the best regional minister.
We are all aware what happened to him after the 2016 elections.
The behavior of Eric Opoku yielded them (NDC) results.
Finally, I kwame Baffoe Abronye have decided not to talk about any happenings within the party and government in the Brong Ahafo Region because some of these attitudes by the regional minister.
My humble advice to all the government appointees is that, they should be very careful about how they treat the grassroot because they will laugh at the wrong side of their mouths one day if they continue this way.
