ASIEDU NKETIAH MUST BE PICKED UP TO PROVE HIS ALLEGATIONS AGAINST A SO-CALLED PLOT TO TERRORIZE VOLTARIANS
The norm has always been that policy initiatives or alternatives are used to cajole the electorate to vote for parties to either continue with their good works or to take a respite for others to take their places.
The 2020 elections appear to be departing from this norm thanks to the desperation of the leadership of the opposition NDC.
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is accusing the ruling party of deliberately plotting to turn the Volta Region into a war zone ahead of the 2020 elections.
Speaking on Neat FM’s Ghana Montie show on Monday, October 5, 2020, Asiedu Nketiah alleged that there is a grand scheme by the Akufo-Addo administration to terrorize Voltarians.
“They [NPP] will clad some vigilante groups with military uniforms to terrify Voltarians on the elections day. I have the list of all guns with registered numbers given to groups,” he made a wild allegation.
According to him, the brouhaha about the secessionist group is a plot by the NPP.
“They should know we are aware, if we don’t speak against it, NPP will destroy this country like the way they killed Yaa-Naa, that is their game plan,” he said.
I have never come across such a reckless statement from a top politician in recent years than this dangerous and treasonous comment from Asiedu Nketiah.
What would the NPP gain by creating chaos in the Volta Region? The Yaa-Naa bit came as a shock to those who listened to him.
They preached and campaigned on that unfortunate incident in Dagbon and said they had concrete evidence to nail those who killed the late king. They won power and could not prove that allegation.
Asiedu Nketiah is here again with another wild claim which has the potential to spark a conflict in the country. If he claims to have evidence of arms being stockpiled and readied for battle, he should be made to prove same.
The security agencies must invite Asiedu Nketiah to assist in unearthing this so-called plot to terrorize Voltarians as he claimed on Neat FM.
This is borne out of their desperation for power as they foresee another humiliating defeat looming large. Asiedu Nketiah must not be allowed to walk out of this unscathed.
