ASHAIMAN NPP PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE UNCLOAK NDC’s PROPAGANDA ON FOOD DISTRIBUTION.
The Parliamentary Candidate of Ashaiman Constituency, Alhaji Labaran Yakubu Barry, has debunked NDC’s propaganda claim that, the distribution of food to the vulnerable in the Constituency is based on partisanship.
Speaking to Ahotor, 92.3FM, he explained that, the arrangements made by the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection, to cater for the vulnerable across the country was non- discriminatory and had no intention to cater for party faithfuls as is being speculated by the NDC.
The NDC had accused the NPP Candidate of keeping the food meant for the vulnerable in his personal vehicle and sharing among only NPP members.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Yakubu, has debunked the NDC’s assertion. According to the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, the Gender Ministry gave specific people to be fed.
“As I went round the Ashaiman Market, the crowd were so huge and controlling them was a huge task as they failed to observe the social distancing protocols. Alternatively, I try to distribute the food which had already been packaged in each bag, by giving each bag out for them to share among themselves”,
” My involvement in the food distribution was to heed to the call of the vulnerable who have been looking up to me since the lockdown. They see me as their Member of Parliament “he explained.
On the other hand, the NPP P.C called on the leadership of NDC, especially the Member of Parliament, Hon. Ernest Norgbey, who has been invisible in the Constituency for sometime now, but only pop up to bring confusion, to also contribute his widows might to support the vulnerable in Ashaiman, as the Christians and Muslim leadership have done.
