Let me broach this subject about John Mahama and his running mate.
It has been a long, arduous and grueling search. There were potholes, stumps and huge stumbling blocks on the way. The length in the search, we were made to understand, was due to the meticulousness required to select the best amongst the team.
There was only one parameter. There was only one yardstick. Bawumia. Bawumia. Bawumia. They needed a Bawumia to be in the ring of intellectual debate to rub shoulders with Mahamudu Bawumia.
They continued with their fruitless efforts to land on a Bawumia, an astute economist who could stand up to the affable Vice President of the Republic, Mahamudu Bawumia.
Apparently, the searched produced results, negative ones. The search brought out Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the English Language professor.
Her academic credentials cannot be questioned but her performance as a Minister under Mahama can be quarantined by lapses, incompetence and anti-feminist tendencies.
Mahama is a communications expert, so we have been made to believe. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the running mate, we know is a professor of English Language.
The two are ordinary. In the unlikely event that Mahama becomes president, Naana would become the head of the Economic Management Team of the administration. She is a professor of English Language, not Economics or Finance.
Mahama being ordinary would have been complemented by an economist. He says he wants another ordinary mate. This development is an insult to the few economists in the NDC. Simply put, Mahama is not serious!
