Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu Constituency in the Northern Region, A.B.A Fuseini has accused the government of failing to sanction corrupt and non-performing officials.
According to him, president Akufo-Addo’s failure to sack the CID Boss, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah is a clear indication that the government is practicing family and friends government.
He adds that even if the government has failed to sack the CID boss, it will be fair enough for the CID boss to resign if she has “conscience” especially after her infamous press conference announcing that they (Police Service) knew where the girls were.
The MP’s statement comes at the back of calls by some Ghanaians demanding the immediate removal of the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah after the announcement by the IGP James Oppong Boanuh, that the human parts found at the suspect’s home were revealed through DNA test were that of the Takoradi kidnapped girls.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanaweb, the Member of Parliament insists that there is a need for her to resign adding that Akufo-Addo is keeping her because of his family and friends relationship.
“It was DCOP Tiwa Addo Dankwa who indicated to all Ghanaians that she was going to rescue the kidnapped girls and they know where they were. This is the most horrifying experience any family can go through. They are expecting their children to come and now they are bringing you the bones of the children. It is the worst spectacle you can inflict on anybody.
“With all this happening the woman (CID boss) is sitting in the office. In any civilized society, these things cannot happen and we have a president who sits down and all these things are happening under his watch as if nothing has happened. The president cannot exercise his muscle and fire any of these incompetent people in the office.”
“Nana Addo has flooded the government with his relatives. Because of the family and friends relationship, he has with madam Tiwaa he cannot sack Tiwaa. If she has no decency to resign she should have been fired before we got here. She is still in office and we hear that the president is preparing her to be IGP. They can continue” he added.
