🇬🇭The Asante first fought against the white supremacy in 7 wars between 1806 and 1900

Among all the ethnic groups in Ghana , the Asante were the first to wedge themselves into a powerful and successful militancy against the white man’s control .

They fought gallantly seven wars between the years 1806 to 1900.

ln the latter year , Asante was formally annexed to the British Crown as a separate nation from Gold Coast , now Ghana .

Ghana’s political independence , they say is 63 years old , and a celebration to mark the occasion , they say will take place in Kumasi , the capital of the Asante Kingdom .

One would have expected that the celebration would take behind a portion of vast land behind the Catering Restaurant or behind the KMA HQ or near the Novotel Hotel , and that by the end of the celebration , Asante would be left with a legacy , the likes of the Independent Square in Accra , but that shall never happen , for a reason know to all of us .

Ghana has been and continues to be ungrateful to Asante . Ghanaians deliberately close their eyes at the many good works

Asante has done and keeps doing for Ghana .

Political lndependence for Ghana , YES ! But have we forgotten that the many Anglo-Asante wars made our Colonial Masters and their European allies unwilling to continue to stay in comfort at the Gold Coast , now Ghana , thereby making Ghana hundreds of miles away from apartheid ?

Have we forgotten that that that at the beginning of the Gold Coast’s struggle for her Independence from Britain in the 1940s , Asante agreed wholeheartedly to sacrifice and did sacrifice her independence to enable her ( Asante ) join the Gold Coast in her struggle against the British ?

🇬🇭Have we forgotten that Otumfuo Osei Agyeman Prempe ll and his subjects , not to mention , Dr. K.A. Busia ( then a full blooded Asante ) , Dr. E.O. Asafo-Adjaye , Mr. Victor Owusu , Mr. Joe Appiah , Mr. R.R. Amponsah , BAAFUOR OSEI AKOTO , etc. were among those who fought tirelessly to bring about the much talked about Ghana’s lndependence today ?🇬🇭

Have we forgotten that the British fear of constant invasion by the Asante forces that compelled them ( the British ) to formally move their seat of government from Cape Coast to Accra in 19th. March , 1877 ?

Ghana must learn to be grateful to Asante !
