The president of the Ghana Journalist Association, Mr. Roland Affail Monney has promised to create the enabling environment for journalists to have their own accommodation while in service.
He also revealed that the Best Journalist of the Year is to receive a three bedroom apartment.
He made this statement at the 22nd Ghana Journalists Association Awards ceremony ongoing at the State Banquet Hall in Accra.
The award ceremony recognised over 20 journalists for their various in bringing out accurate and objective stories across the country.
A special award was presented to journalists who played the frontline role for the fight against illegal mining popularly known as galamsey.
Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas was crowned the overall best journalist of the year 2015 at the 21st Ghana Journalist Awards (GJA).
Anas’ award was due to his exposé on corruption in the judiciary. He captured 34 judges on video allegedly taking bribes to compromise justice.
