The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for the Krowor constituency, E.B Borketey aka Amoosha has stepped down as the Parliamentary Candidate for the area in the upcoming November election
Information available to 2016ghanaelections reveals that Mr. Borketey is stepping down as Parliamentary Candidate due to ill health issues. Mr. Borketey who suffered from a mild stroke and was responding to treatment was asked by the ruling party to submit a report indicating his fitness to campaign which he did.
However sources within the party disclosed that his medical report was suspicious hence the party’s decision to form a medical enquiry team which was to verify his status.
Mr Borketey over the weekend tendered in his resignation to contest on the party’s ticket to the national executives of the ruling NDC.
National Organizer of the NDC Kofi Adams believes the party is confident of winning the Krowor seat amidst the stepping down of the candidate over the weekend.
Mr Kofi Adams noted that the NDC has served the people of Krowor well and was optimistic it will translate into votes.
He is optimistic that is possible the party will get a more viable and prominent replacement who will propagate the good works of the party and eventually win the seat.
