I will be Ghana’s next president – Namoale declares

Former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon Constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale has prophesied that he would be Ghana’s President in the future as he expressed great confidence in his knowledge of governance.

Mr. Namoale who recently withdrew from the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbeareship race for the 2020 general elections expressed great concern about the leadership style of the current government, describing some of their activates as a grand scheme.

He sighted the corruption claims Musician A-Plus made against the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye and Abu Jinapor and how the government allegedly covered it up saying, “A-Plus raised an alarm, accused the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff. Nana Addo said there was an investigation, and after the investigation, we heard some recording, the police doing cover-up. In the end, the policewoman was promoted.”

“So, what are you telling us, it is a scheme, a grand scheme of corruption. Corruption by the government and Ghanaians are seeing through it and we will make sure that what needs to be done will be done. I am not contesting now but I will be president in future,” he predicted.

Nii Amasah Namoale had earlier expressed interest in the NDC flagbeareship race together with the likes of Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Bagbin, Ekow Spio Gabrah and Prof. Joshua Alabi.

He later stepped down, an act he said was due to his love for his party and the need to make party unity the priority, adding that not being a flagbearer hopeful allows him to freely act and express himself on issues concerning the party.

He predicted that if he had stayed in the race, he was positive of his victory, hinting that one of his reasons for stepping down was the indication of an “unlevel playground”.

“I don’t fear, it is because I don’t fear that is why I withdrew. I want the cohesion and the unity of my political party. I knew very well that if I go I will win. If I go and there is a level playground, I will win. It is because of the unlevel playing ground and the unity and cohesion of my party that is why I am withdrawing and giving my support to Professor Joshua Alabi,” he said.

“When things are happening and sometimes some of us want the truth at all cost, you go ahead and do things for the truth to be unveiled. I am an ordinary member of the NDC and I want NDC to win 2020. If you are flagbearer or a flagbearer hopeful, there are certain things you cannot do. If someone is doing something that is wrong, If I am an ordinary member of the party, I will voice it out, I will say it but if I am a flag bearer hopeful I cannot say it,” he explained.
