Bugri Naabu Given 48 Hours To Apologise Or Face Court Action

The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bugri Naabu has been given a 48 hour ultimatum to retract and apologise over an allegation he made against Rockson Bukari.

Bugri Naabu had accused the Upper East Regional Minister and Otiko Afisa Djaba of being the masterminds behind the death of Adams Mahama.

Bugri Naabu on Monday, May 8 accused Otiko Djaba and the Upper East Regional Minister Rockson Bukari of being behind the killing of the late Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“You could remember Adams Mahama who certainly died when he was bathed with acid, [it was through] the same secret meetings …” Mr Bugri Naabu alleged in an interview with Radio XYZ

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, lead counsel of the Minister, Samson Ayenini, lead counsel of Rockson Bukari said if Bugri Naabu does not apologise ‘unconditionally’, he will face the full rigours of the law.

“Our client wanted immediate action but we advised him to wait for a while to see if Bugri Naabu will apologise and retract the story. If he doesn’t do it, it means he has evidence to prove his statement…we have given him 48 hours to apologise. The 48 hours started yesterday (Monday) and if he doesn’t retract and apologise unconditionally; it must be in writing and he must undertake that he will never repeat those false claims anymore, he will face the law…”

A statement signed by Samson Lardy Anyenini of A-Partners@Law said two other media houses are also included in the ultimatum.
