A National Security Poll commissioned by His Excellency President John D. Mahama has revealed that the NPP Flagbearer is ‘more than likely to win a one touch victory in the November Polls.’ The report which was presented to the President on Friday night also highlighted fears that the NDC may lose their Parliamentary hold especially in marginal constituencies. While the report maintained the NDC as having a strong grip over the Volta Region, it revealed fears that the ruling Party would lose a huge number of votes to apathy since both current NPP supporters and first time voters appear more energised to campaign and vote for the NPP as compared to the NDC’s support base. Recommendations. Among the recommendations contained in the report was one calling on the NDC to deplore tribal based propaganda to whip up anger against leading members of the NPP. ‘Voters in the Greater Accra, Volta and Northern Regions must be made to feel that the NPP hates people who hail from tribes resident in these Regions. To this extent, we must constantly concoct and release audios and articles showing NPP functionaries attacking the people so mentioned.’ Sources at the Presidency revealed to this writer that the President commissioned the report in July 2015. The survey involved interviewing Ghanaians across the country and beyond on their assessment of Government and which of the front runners in the November Polls was more likely to win the 2016 polls. As at the time of press several attempts to reach the Presidency for a response had failed with officials disclosing an unwillingness to speak about the report.
