TWO YEARS OF WONDERS,Ratina
TWO YEARS OF WONDERS
Today marks exactly two (2) years when H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo mounted the political platform of this noble country.
Until he was elected as president on 7th December 2016, political commentators from the other political party and their ideological affiliates doubted the wonders of the Most High God by saying continuously that “Nana Akufo-Addo can’t never be president”.
President Akufo-Addo took over the mantle of governance at the time that the faith of the Ghanaian economy was hanging solely on the faith of God.
The abysmal performance of the Mahama led NDC government was unmatched.
Almost all the various sectors of the economy were neither productive and or reaping negative returns.
Two years down the lane, the Akufo-Addo led government has implemented numerous pro-poor policies which have eased the masses from the quagmire of starvation and extreme poverty.
Few months after President Akufo-Addo took over, he announced and implemented the famous Free SHS policy. A policy the doomsayers described as “unrealistic”.
Before 7th January, we could hear the voices of unemployed graduates on daily bases. Thanks to the Akufo-Addo’s government for the NABCO initiative which has vacated 100,000 productive graduates from the state of destitution and desolation.
Ghana under the stewardship of John Mahama was full of darkness. Dumsor was an internationally recognized symbol of our motherland. Few months in power, President Akufo-Addo led NPP government halted “dumsor”. This was a major campaign promise.
Promise made, promise fulfilled
Ghana used to boast with agriculture. However, the sector suffered the most under Mahama’s government.
Agriculture faced downward decline under the Mahama led NDC government.
Through the implementation of Planting for Food and Job, Ghanaians are today smiling because we have a lot to eat and stored.
Poor utility service delivery and its accompanied high cost brought untold hardship onto Ghanaians.
It was only under the watch of Mahama that the cost of utility surpassed rent. Under the stewardship of Nana Akufo-Addo, utility prices have been attacked by deflation.
The private sector is working. The public sector is healed of its wounds.
We are heading towards the promised land and all the micro and macro indicators are point towards hope in the days ahead.
Truly, President Akufo-Addo has done what the NDC couldn’t do in eight (8) years.
