Mahama, the worst President Ghana has ever had
Majority leader in Parliament and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsj believes Former president John Dramani Mahama is the worst Head of State the country has ever had in the last three decades.
“In 2016, John Mahama grew the economy by only 2.2% this implies that in 30 years back, no leader has ever mismanaged the country in such a manner like Mahama. The country has never seen such an economy befbefore,” he said.
The legislator for Suame constituency in the Ashanti Region wondered why the former President did not do his best to put the economy back on it toes when he had the opportunity to be in office as president.
According to him, at the time John Mahama was leaving office in the year 2016, the GDP of the country was at 3.7%.
“His GDP rate was the worst the country had 20 years ago at the time he was leaving office”, he painted a rather gloomy picture of the legacy the NDC administration left behind to be inherited by the current administration”.
He noted that before former President Jerry John Rawlings was leaving office, Ghana’s GDP was at 3.9% whiles Kufuor was able to raise it to 9.1%.
“But when Mahama took the mantle he reduced it drastically to 3.7%. The country at the time had not experience such a bad government in more than two decades”.
To him, the former President should keep quiet and watch the good works of the Akufo-Addo led administration.
“Today Mahama is bold enough to say the NPP has failed in governing the country. In fact the NPP has now been able to increase the GDP to 8.7%. The NPP government has also been able to reduce interest rate on bank loans from 34, 35% to anything between 23%. What it means is that, things are getting better for Ghanaians” The country is developing”.
