Is the President of Ghana Condoning Asantehene’s Assassination Plot against a Genuine Kumawu Royal?

5.52Kviews

The latest development has vindicated me for publishing articles relating to a hatched plot to assassinate the people’s preferred chief of Kumawu, in the person of Barima Tweneboa Kodua V. Barima Tweneboa Kodua V is a royal from the Ananangya royal family. The members of this family have the same matrilineal descent as Barima Tweneboa Kodua I, the originator of the Kumawu Kodua Stool. Their maternal forebear is Seni Fontom.

Some people might have thought the contents of the said articles were the figment of my warped imagination but they were facts obtained from a reliable source.

Why have I headlined this publication, “Is the President of Ghana Condoning Asantehene’s Assassination Plot against a Genuine Kumawu Royal?” one may query? It is just because of what transpired at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters, otherwise called Kumasi Central Police Station, on Wednesday, 10 October 2018. Prior to the Regional Security Council (RESEC) meeting held between the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, the Southern Command Military Commander and about four other Military Commanders, the Ashanti Regional Commander of the Fire Brigade, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander and his Deputy, the District Chief Executive of Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly, Samuel Addae Agyekum, and a few other members of the RESEC on one hand, and the Ananangya Abusuapani Nana Darkwa, Barima Tweneboa Kodua V and others on another, I heard that the plot to assassinate him using the Ghana Security Forces was an order from above and above.

Who are those first higher person from above and the next high person also from above that had directed that would-be assassination? I know of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who walked into the said police station with “Kumawuhene” Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua and a queen, probably Nana Abenaa Serwaah Amponsah, to order them to kill Barima Tweneboa Kodua V during his mother’s funeral should he be carried in a palanquin. He assured the police that nothing will happen to them if they shoot him dead.

Now, who can be higher in Ghana to order the assassination of a rival chief or an innocent person using the Ghana Security Forces (military and police personnel) other than the President of the Republic? I cannot be certain about the identity of that higher person except that of Asantehene whose order is coming from above for that assassination plot to be executed hence asking if it is His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. It could be him or it could not be him. Nonetheless, I just want to find out who that higher person is.

Going forward, in the said meeting which was the follow-up to the two previously-held District Security Council (DISEC) meetings in Kumawu, the members of the RESEC warned Barima Tweneboa Kodua V not to be seen to be carried in a palanquin, have a kingly umbrella over his head or conduct himself in anyway as a chief of whatever category during and after his mother’s funeral or else, there will be dire military and police consequences against him which will lead to bloodshed and injuries to many people.

Simon Osei Mensah emphatically stated that they know of only Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua known in private life as Dr Yaw Sarfo, as the only legitimate paramount chief in Kumawu Traditional Area. According to him, Dr Yaw Sarfo has been gazetted and sworn an oath of allegiance to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. He was quoting Akan custom in relation to enstoolment of a chief and would have none of the peculiar standing Kumawu custom and traditions in that regard for an answer. He said, officially, Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua has been gazetted regardless of any questionable circumstances about it as speculated by knowledgeable historians conversant with Kumawu chieftaincy affairs as regards enstoolment and destoolment of chiefs.

After hours of talking, Simon Osei Mensah asked, “what would happen if we had not invited you to this meeting but had taken you by surprise by storming the funeral to carry out the military cum police action?” This was in response to the family telling the RESEC members that there was no need for the presence of any security forces coming to the funeral with intent to protect them since they had agreed to the demands by RESEC. The RESEC insisted that since the family had written to them after the DISEC meeting that they needed protection, if they failed to attend to protect them, they will suffer consequences should any public commotion happen during the funeral.

It was made clear to the family the initial intention of the military and the police to enforce that Barima Tweneboa Kodua V never presents himself at his own mother’s funeral as a chief and if he does, brutal action by them leading to bloodshed and injuries will happen.

In the end, the RESEC have said they will send security personnel but will station them in Besoro, a town near Kumawu-Bodomase but will send two security personnel to Bodomase to supervise that Barima Tweneboa Kodua V and the family comply by the agreement and also, to ensure that there will be no problems.

What is still fishy about the whole scenario is the RESEC suggestion that people from the rival chief, Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua who they recognize, can come to Bodomase to foment troubles and should that happen, they must be ready to stop it. To me as a person with knowledge in security matters and conflict resolution, it is still the intention of the military and the police personnel to physically eliminate Barima Tweneboa Kodua V. They can arrange with some people to come and start troubles and in their fictitious attempts to stop it, they may arrange a sniper to shoot him dead as if a stray bullet hit him.

Another vital information I have received from a reliable source alleges that an order from above has instructed the police in Ashanti region to do whatever Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II requests of them. Who is that person from above issuing such orders that allow some so-called powerful people in Ghana to flout the laws of the land with impunity?

In my candid opinion, such orders can only come from the President. Without gainsaying, I challenge the President to find out who gave that order that has empowered Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to ask the military and the police to proceed to Kumawu-Bodomase to assassinate an innocent person.

Ghanaians voted for a change in government from NDC to NPP in the hope of being accorded justice and treated equally before the law irrespective of one’s status in the nation, and also, to better their conditions of living. I am yet to see a clean break from the lawlessness, creation of human monsters and official corruption under the NDC by the NPP. Presently, to be honest with every public reader, the value is the same.

Asantehene used the police to terrorise the people of Kumawuman who are supportive of Barima Tweneboa Kodua V during former President John Dramani Mahama’s NDC government. Under the NPP government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President has bonded friendship with the publicly known foe who never wished him to ever become President of Ghana. The foe, has now been given unfettered access to the police and the military to use them to perpetuate his crimes. What is going on? My evidence is this case under discussion.

Let the President realise that God is watching and as he entrusted himself and his political battle into the hands of God, so has Barima Tweneboa Kodua V and the discerning citizens of Kumawuman entrusted their battle for justice into the mighty hands of God Almighty. As God fought successfully for then presidential-aspirant Nana Addo, so shall it eventually be for Barima Tweneboa Kodua V and Kumawuman.

Could the order from the higher person above be rather the Inspector General of Police? No, he cannot order the military but the police. Could it be the Defence Minister, the Interior Minister or the National Security Minister? Probably. However, the President who will be notified about this publication same as he was notified about the previous one, may be the best person to answer my query.

A source from Dr Yaw Sarfo’s camp, indicates that he vowed to let the police stop Barima Tweneboa Kodua at all cost from conducting himself as a chief because it will erode the little support he, Dr Yaw Sarfo, has been enjoying since Barima Tweneboa Kodua V’s eight months absence from Ghana.

Finally, a District Police Commander suspected by the RESEC to have tipped-off the Ananangya family to write to seek police protection during the funeral has been demoted and transferred yesterday, Wednesday, 10 October 2018. They think without any such intelligence tip-off that has negated their nefarious plot, they could have taken Barima Tweneboa Kodua V by surprise to execute their plot against him.

That said demoted Commander has not said anything or else, I will have mentioned his name. It is their guilty conscience that is making them believe that someone has revealed a security intelligence to avert a planned calamity. It is the work of the Living God that every secret plan of theirs is always revealed to me and the true Men and Women of God.

Could the President seriously investigate this as failing to do so, if someone is indeed using his name to encourage Asantehene to use the government machinery for dubious and deadly reasons will damage his integrity?

As usual, I will copy in this publication Amnesty International, The Office of United Nations Human Rights and the Sekyere Kumawu District Assembly. I want the whole world to know how Ghana is sanctioning the creation of human monsters and tacitly encouraging lawlessness and attempted assassination plots.

I will entreat the Ghana media and anyone who comes across this publication to give it a wider dissemination to help put a stop to such official acts of criminality.
