Reshuffle: Inject ‘new blood’ into your ministers – Expert to Akufo-Addo

126views

A former governance advisor to the United Nations Professor Agyeman Duah has urged President Akufo-Addo to inject “new blood” into his ministers in order to enable them perform well.

The advice comes after the President embarked on his first ministerial reshuffle since assuming the Presidency in December 2016.

The reshuffle elevated Deputy Information Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah to the substantive position of an Information Minister.

Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, who used to be the Minister for Information, has been reassigned to man the Ministry for Inner City and Zongo Development, once occupied by Boniface Abubakar Saddique, who has been made a Minister of State at the Office of the Vice President.

Otiko Afisa Djaba has been relieved of her position as the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection and made an Ambassador-designate to Italy.

Cynthia Morrison, Member of Parliament for Agona West constituency, is now Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection-designate.

Speaking to Morning Starr about the changes, Prof. Duah said the President’s refusal to cut down on the number of his appointees as was expected, shows that he is still confident in the numbers.
